This spot is great for viewing sunrise with that steaming mug of coffee or tea or enjoy a lovely glass of wine in the afternoon’s wonderful constant breezes. But for now go down the steps and put your toes in sand that feels like soft white cake flour! Sit and relax, walk for miles or snorkel or kayak in the blue and turquoise waters right off our beach.
After a short walk or golf cart ride you’ll see the red & white candy striped Hopetown Harbor lighthouse overlooking the charming harbor full of moored sailboats and powerboats. The village of Hope Town is for foot or bike traffic only.
Park the golf cart and stroll past pastel clapboard houses to the gourmet coffee shop to enjoy coffee with homemade pastries, waterfront eateries with live music & games in the evening as well, fish & vegetable markets, two small groceries (Vernon’s makes yummy homemade breads & the best Key Lime Pie), museum, library and playground.
In town you can also rent bikes and golf carts, purchase your gifts at several adorable shops and schedule scuba diving and snorkeling expeditions at Froggies. There are several churches on the island. Vernon, the grocer & baker will be your pastor at the quaint Methodist church in town. There is also a weekly outside Catholic service by the library.
There are boating outings not to be missed like a picnic on the south end of the island at Tahiti Beach where the water is very shallow for children and the view is breathtaking. Hope Town has many great casual restaurants: Harbors Edge (our favorite), Sea Spray Marina, Abaco Inn and On da Beach. Sugar Shack is new to the south end of the island and offers ice cream treats.
On Lubbers Cay there is “The Full Moon Party” most months at Cracker P’s. Guana Cay has a pig roast on Sunday at Nippers. It gets a little wild as the day progresses.
Nearby islands include Green Turtle Cay and Treasure Cay which can be a good day boat trip. The best dive spots are Fowl Cay and Sandy Cay. Abaco offers some of the best fishing in the Caribbean for everything from seasonal Marlin, Wahoo and Tuna to year round Dolphin, Snapper and Grouper. There are a number of good local fishing charters operations as well as boat rentals.
The owner’s share their four story island home with you keeping “comfort” in mind. Kick back and relax while you are taking in the Atlantic Ocean or Sea of Abaco vistas with a glass of wine from one of 4 covered decks covering over 1600 square feet. Whether your desire is sunrise or sunsets - Destiny has a deck for you to enjoy the ocean breezes on comfortable cushioned furniture. The living room has two full size couches and two large chairs for your group. The large wall bookcase holds lots of fun reading material for your enjoyment.

This sea glass blue room boasts two sea glass blue couches, two chairs and a mahogany table with four chairs so entertaining groups is not problem. The view from this very large room is 360 degrees!
